Privacy Policy — proTorrent

Data we collect

None. proTorrent contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting SDKs, no trackers, and no user accounts. The app does not send any information to Bitsmart Global LLC or to any third-party service we operate.

Data stored on your device

All app data stays local to your device:

• Your torrent list, transfer history, and statistics (a local database).
• Your settings (theme, speed limits, schedule, network rules).
• Torrent metadata and the files you choose to download.

This data is never uploaded anywhere by the app. Uninstalling the app removes it.

Information shared as an inherent part of BitTorrent

BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer protocol. When you download or seed a torrent, the app necessarily connects to other peers, trackers, and (if present) web seeds defined by you or by the torrent. As with every BitTorrent client:

• Your IP address is visible to the peers, trackers, and web-seed servers you connect to. This is fundamental to how peer-to-peer file transfer works.
• Bitsmart Global LLC does not operate these peers, trackers, or servers and does not receive any of this information.

To mask your IP address from peers, use a VPN. proTorrent includes a “require VPN” option that pauses transfers unless a VPN is active.

Permissions and why they are used

• Internet — connect to peers, trackers, and web seeds.
• Network / Wi-Fi state — honor your “Wi-Fi only” and “pause on metered” rules.
• Wake lock — keep transfers running while the screen is off.
• Notifications — show the ongoing transfer notification (required for the foreground service). You may decline; transfers still run.
• Foreground service (data sync) — run transfers reliably in the background.

Children

proTorrent is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children.
